This beautiful Buddhist temple is a replica of the 900-year-old Byodo-In located in Uji, Japan. It is located in one of the most peaceful locations in O'ahu - the Valley of the Temples. The valley is situated against a back-drop of tall cliffs and is landscaped with traditional lush Japanese gardens and koi ponds. Inside the Byodo-In Temple is a nine-foot Lotus Buddha. Outside is a three-ton, brass Peace Bell. The temple was built without the use of any nails.
overall Must see !!!

Bike Touring - Solvang, CA

The Lovely lady (Julie), is celebrating her birthday with us at Firestone Brewery. We would tell you how old she is, but you would never believe us anyway. We sang happy b-day and embarrassed Julie as best as possible and had a really great time.

(Left to Right)- Stevie- Johns cousin and wine dealer/hauler. Freddie- the local fix-it guy, Joe- physical therapist, John- teacher, Julie- teacher, Steve- hopeful pro-road bike racer, and Bartek- world traveler and hopefully construction engineer in the future. Quite a dynamic :)

From left to right: Joe, Steve, Bartek, John, and Julie.
John invited us over for some good local Mexican food, appetizers, and fine beverages. The Padfield's also invited us to stay for the next 2 nights, in which we had our own room, extra hot showers, and laundry. The night was a blast and the stories shared will always be memorable (watch out for the squirrel killer).
Thanks a lot guys, we really enjoyed our stay and would not trade this experience for anything. John and everyone included went out of their way to help us in enjoying our stay.
Hope to see ya soon, Christmas!!!

Bike Touring - Solvang, CA

Mary and Joaquin drove up from San Diego in order to meet us for some wine tasting and local cuisine in the Santa Ynez Valley. It was really nice to have such good friends to share and enjoy what the valley truly has to offer.

Thanks to the Levin's, we had a comfortable bed, a warm shower accompanied with spa-like robes, a great breakfast, and some enjoyable conversations. We will never forget you guys. Enjoy Switzerland and we hope the ski season goes well for you.
Thanks!

Solvang - Danish Capital of the U.S. and quite possibly the west coast Capital of Hospitality- (Great People)

Bike Touring - Solvang, CA

The 6th grade math class grew to include a couple more classes; so we moved to the computer lab and gave a semi-slide show presentation of our recent adventures. Mr. Padfield's class was most attentive and their questions and interest was greatly appreciated. It was extremely enjoyable to get such inquisitive questions, many of which we have not been asked before.
Thanks for the Time and the Hospitality and a special thank-you goes out to,

and all the teachers who allowed us to share our experiences.
Also: Happy Belated 60th Birthday John!
