Bike Touring

Bike Touring

Simply the steepest grade on the entire pacific coast route. What you can not see is good, for you would not be able to believe that a bike could travel up this road (especially equipped with a 70 lb trailer) The little town of Elk, CA is wonderful, so just stay there and do not proceed any further south, for this hill awaits and your mortality is left in the balance.

Bike Touring - Fort Bragg, Ca

Ahhhh..... The Cali coast at dusk. What a great feeling to go from the dense forest to the open ocean. Alive!!!

Bike Touring - Fort Bragg, Ca

Damn it Bartek, You could photo-shop any background behind this guy because he looks the same in every picture. To tell you the truth, Bartek is in Portland getting drunk right now, and we are just taking pictures and photo-shopping him in.

Unsuspecting, Steve cracks a rare smile without being prodded to do so.

Bike Touring

Now we are in California!!!

Bike Touring - Gold Beach

After 6 hard days on the road, we decided to finally shell-up and get a hotel in order to do some much needed laundry and detox our bodies of this utter stench. We met Mike, a cigarette smoking, beer drinking, phenomenon, who rides his brand-new 75$ treck purchased days before his ride. He set out to ride to San Francisco, not actually expecting to make it by January, but soon realized that he could go to LA and back in the same time. He is the quintessential example of, "It is not about the bike". He kicks ass and is nice to have around.

Raccoon At Large:
Last seen north of Bandon Beach rubbing chamois cream between its legs and enjoying a fine Venezuelan Dark Chocolate. If seen please notify local authorities because our ass's hurt from all this bike riding without chamois cream and I am craving chocolate..........
